Overview (Text Only)

Operates pelletizing, slit film, and thermoforming lines to produce finished goods which meet internal and customer specifications and to perform other tasks incidental to preparing products for delivery to customers.
 

Responsibilities (Text Only)

- Operate extruder to produce pelletized materials.
- Read production sheets and work orders to determine what part is to be produced.
- Perform start up/shutdown procedures for the pelletizer, thermoformer, and slitter and assembles appropriate machine parts and die.
- Fill machine hoppers with raw materials and keeps full during production runs.
- Perform quality checks by taking samples and comparing with work order specifications. Make machine adjustments to maintain specifications.
- Maintain quality by following established quality procedures through the use of tape measures, calipers, and other various measurement devices.
- Saw parts to length or drill holes in parts on production line.
- Read production sheet to determine what part is to be produced.
- Package finished goods.
- Assemble boxes, spools and skids.
- Package finished goods on spools and/or in boxes and/or on skids.
- Housekeeping: Maintains clean and orderly work area by keeping tools and equipment in proper places and all materials off the floor.
- Performs other routine duties as directed by supervisor.

Qualifications (Text Only)

. Education and/or Experience:    
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be able to read, write and perform basic mathematical problems.      
- Solve problems that require one or two operations. Multiply negative numbers.
- Calculate averages, simple ratios, simple proportions, or rates using whole numbers and decimals. Add commonly known fractions, decimals, or percentages (e.g., 1/2, .75, 25%). Add up to three fractions that share a common denominator.
- Multiply a mixed number by a whole number or decimal. Put the information in the right order before performing calculations.
- Find several pieces of information in one or two graphics. Understand how graphics are related to each other.
- Summarize information from one or two straightforward graphics. Identify trends shown in one or two straightforward graphics. Compare information and trends shown in one or two straightforward graphics.
- Identify important details that may not be clearly stated. Use the reading material to figure out the meaning of words that are not defined.
- Apply instructions with several steps to a situation that is the same as the situation in the reading materials. Choose what to do when changing conditions call for a different action (follow directions that include "if-then" statements
